In the Press, YES!!!

We have some very exciting news to share with you!!!

Hellbender in the Blue and Teardrop Pictures have been on an amazing journey, and it’s not over yet. We have had the honor of being included in some fantastic local media outlets, showcasing our founder Katelyn Calhoun as well as Hellbender in the Blue and Braided with the Current. We want to thank you all for your support through this process. Without further ado, here are some sneak peeks!

Katelyn Calhoun sat down with Natalie Derrickson from Indy Maven as the first of a four- part series created in partnership with Hoodox called the Women Filmmakers Collection. The article covers a little bit of back story on Katelyn as well as why documentaries are so important to Teardrop Pictures.

It was so great to sit down with Natalie and have this conversation, and we hope you enjoy the rest of the article. You can find it here.

Katelyn sat down as a guest alongside Rocky Walls to chat with Mark Kesling from the daVinci Pursuit about being a local filmmaker in Indiana and the magic of Hoodox. The discussion involved how Hoodox puts a spotlight on creators and community members, especially when important and inspiring themes are shared through the power of storytelling. Katelyn shares her focus on nature – particularly her interest in telling stories about creatures that might first appear unlovable.

It was a joy to take a stroll down memory lane and discuss our 2018 film Braided with the Current. The piece was highlighted in the film spotlight of the Hoosier Riverwatch Newsletter ‘Riffles & Pools Hoosier Riverwatch.’ We hope that readers will be encouraged to get involved/continue to get involved with the protection and potential of our waterways. It's an honor to be introduced to the communities of these organizations. Just another reason we value community. If you are associated with any of these organizations, thank you. We appreciate all of your support and encouragement as we continue to stay focused. Appreciate you.

Our last announcement is a “save the date” reminder!

Indiana Forest Alliance Wild & Scenic Film Fest will be on April 28th, 2022. As a part of the Indiana Forest Alliance partnership which helped with the creation and successful completion of Hellbender in the Blue, we are honored to be attend this event. So we are here to remind you to save the date and enjoy this festival. Indiana Forest Alliance has been great about supporting local documentary film work that helps to support and share the local stories of Indiana and what is being done to protect and preserve our home.
